OVERVIEW

Asuka is a small village located in the heart of Nara Prefecture. It is renowned as the site of Japan’s first capital, established in the late 6th to 7th centuries, where the foundation of the Japanese nation was laid.

Many first-time visitors (including you!) to Asuka say they feel an inexplicable sense of nostalgia, as if returning to a place they’ve long known. This is because the entire village is carefully preserved under the Ancient Capitals Preservation Law, safeguarding both its historical and cultural heritage as well as its natural surroundings.

Explore the mysteries of the massive stone structures left behind, as you imagine the ancient capital as it stood 1,400 years ago with your local guide.

You will explore the following spots by electric bicycle:
Amakashi Hill, Masuda Iwafune Stone, Ishibutai kofun tomb, and Inabuchi Rice Terraces.
Please note that this tour is only open to participants who are able to ride a bicycle.
*The tour will be on even if it rains. Please bring your Rainwear,if needed.
* Note that if a weather warning or advisory is issued in Asuka village as of 7:00 AM on the day, the tour will be cancelled with a full refund.
*A bicycle saddle is adjustable for a height range of approx. 140 cm to 185 cm.Please let us know beforehand if your height is other than the above range.
*Please come in comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for cycling.
