OVERVIEW

This tour is packed with the charm of Nara, the birthplace of Japanese culture. You will have the opportunity to experience the Japanese hospitality of “matcha” in two locations: the Takayam area, which accounts for 90% of the share of domestically produced tea whisks, and Jiko-in, where the entire precincts are designed as tea rooms. This is a chance to experience the unique way of Nara tea culture.

Takayama is a major production area for chasen, or tea whisks, accounting for 90% of the nationwide market share. Observe the masterful techniques that have been handed down from generation to generation right before your very eyes

We will offer you to a "Shojinryori" that is japanese vegetarian meal traditionally eaten among monk.
*Lunch can be arranged to suit your preference.

▶Private tea ceremony at Jikoin temple
You will receive a tea ceremony experience performed by the wife of the head priest at Jiko-in. The temple is rare in that its entire grounds have been designed to be tea rooms. You will also receive guidance from the head priest on the history of the temple, providing you with an opportunity to touch on the origin of the tea ceremony.
