Every night of the the week running up to Valentine’s Day, Nara National Museum, Todaiji Temple and Kasugataisha Shrine are lit up from 6pm to 9pm and the lawn of the traditional Japanese garden at the New Public Hall is transformed into a blue milky way, which you can walk through. Stalls are set up selling hot chocolate, perfect for a romantic stroll.
