    📋 Details
Today, you’ll journey to Nara, the cradle of Japanese culture.
As Japan’s first capital, Nara fostered the birth of many traditions and customs. One of these is the tea ceremony, and today you’ll visit a workshop dedicated to crafting chasen, the bamboo whisks essential to this art.
Chasen-making was, until about fifty years ago, a closely guarded family tradition, handed down to a single heir. Remarkably, even in this age of technological advancement, every stage of production is undertaken entirely by hand. You’ll have the opportunity to observe artisans at work and even try your hand at part of the process.
The day continues in Nara City, a unique place where humans, deer, and nature live in harmony.
Prepare to be awed by the majestic Great Buddha, a powerful symbol of the hopes and prayers of people from centuries past.

Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing chants of the priests as they perform their morning rites, and observe these time-honored traditions firsthand.
Afterwards, a monk will escort you to the inner sanctuary for a special viewing of the Juichimen Kannon, the eleven-faced statue of Kannon.
Following your temple experience, enjoy a unique breakfast prepared by Kyoko Oonishi. After spending over 30 years in Europe, she has spent the past decade in Japan sharing her expertise in yakuzen, or medicinal cuisine, through her “Yamato Yakuzen” program.

With body and mind refreshed, embark on a unique sumo experience.
Learn the rituals and etiquette of sumo through a demonstration by Sumo trainee, then step into the ring yourself for a rare opportunity to face off against them !
